Looking Ahead to Brighter Days

As our society slowly re-opens after the restrictive COVID-19 mandates, postponed needs for renovations are resurfacing.  Significant home renovation projects that require the participation of visiting tradesmen are back on the table for many!

Kitchen remodeling remains a “best investment” to add value to your home as well as creating a new, enjoyable “heart of the home” for you and your family.

A feature of our current economic state – low interest rates – makes 2020 a particularly opportune time to remodel. Interest rates are lower than they have been for decades and financing your home improvement has rarely been so affordable.  And, financing can be used to support just a portion of your project – so that you can expand your scope just a little bit to include that special feature that will make your project exactly what you’ve always wanted.

Here are a couple of financing options:

  • An established kitchen design firm typically offers deferred interest financing – meaning, if a small minimum monthly payment is made timely & if the loan is paid off in full by the end of the 12 month or 18 month loan term, then no interest will apply to the loan.  The following are typically not offered by kitchen design firms.
  • Home Equity Loans and Home Equity Lines of Credit are available at very favorable rates right now.  As of today (June 15), Home Equity Lines of Credit are available in the 3%-4% range and Home Equity Loans are in the 4%-5% range, and you may find even more favorable rates.
  • Refinancing your home at today’s great rates (3%-4% range for a 30-year fixed loan) continues to be a popular method of financing improvements
  • Traditional personal loans are available at great interest rates too.  And even credit cards can offer 1-2 years of deferred interest loans.

Each option offers different benefits.  All can provide valuable financial assistance that was not available before, creating great opportunities to purchase your dream kitchen.  A newly renovated kitchen creates a special, warm space for family and friends to gather for years to come, something we all can appreciate.
