Frequently Asked Questions

These answers may help you with your choices

GETTING STARTED / THE PROCESS

How do I begin the kitchen remodeling process?

The best first step is to schedule a showroom visit or design consultation. Come with a general sense of your budget and some photos of kitchens you love (Pinterest and Houzz are great for this), if you have them. Also bring some photos of your present kitchen as well. From there, our design team will guide you through every decision.

Do I need an appointment to visit your showroom?

Walk-ins are always welcome, but we recommend scheduling an appointment so a designer can give you their full attention. You’ll get a lot more out of your visit that way. Call us at 973-386-5500 during regular business hours to set up an appointment.

How long does a typical kitchen remodel take?

It depends on the scope of the project. A cabinet replacement with minimal structural changes can be completed in a few weeks from the time the cabinets are delivered. A full remodel — including layout changes, new countertops, flooring, and appliances — typically takes four to eight weeks from delivery of materials—start to finish. Keep in mind that lead times for cabinet orders can add several weeks before work even begins, so it’s smart to plan ahead…and these are estimates.

Do you offer free consultations or design services?

We offer complimentary initial consultations. Once you decide to work with us, design services are included.

Can I see examples of completed projects?

Absolutely. We have a portfolio of completed kitchens on our website. We’re proud of our work and love showing it off.

PRODUCTS & CABINETS

What cabinet brands do you carry?

We carry nine national brands of trusted and well-established cabinet lines ranging from value-priced to premium. Our designers can walk you through the options and help you find the best fit for your style and budget.

What’s the difference between stock, semi-custom, and custom cabinets?

Stock cabinets come in standard sizes and are available quickly — they’re a great choice when budget and timeline are top priorities. Semi-custom cabinets offer more size options, finishes, and features, giving you more flexibility without the full price tag of custom. Custom cabinets are built to your exact specifications — ideal for unique layouts or when you want everything tailored precisely to your vision.

What cabinet door styles and finishes are available?

We offer a wide range of door styles from classic raised panel and recessed (Shaker) to sleek contemporary slab doors. Finish options include painted, stained wood, glazed, and thermofoil, in a broad palette of colors. Come into the showroom to see the samples in person — it makes a big difference.

Are your cabinets solid wood or engineered wood?

Most of our cabinet lines use a combination of both — solid wood for door frames and face frames, and high-quality plywood or engineered wood for box construction. This is actually the industry standard and provides excellent durability. We’ll always be upfront about what’s in each product line.

Do you carry ready-to-assemble (RTA) cabinets?

Yes, we carry RTA options for budget-conscious buyers or contractors who prefer to handle assembly themselves. We can walk you through what’s involved so you can decide if it’s the right fit for your project.

What countertop materials do you offer?

We offer quartz, granite, marble, quartzite, and butcher block. Quartz is currently the most popular choice because it combines beauty with low maintenance. Granite is also popular and comes in a wide variety of colors and styles.  Our team can help you weigh the pros and cons of each based on how you use your kitchen.

DESIGN

Do you provide 3D renderings or design plans?

Yes. Once we have your measurements and design preferences, we create detailed 3D renderings so you can visualize your new kitchen before anything is ordered or installed. It’s one of the most valuable parts of the process.

Can I make changes to my design after we’ve started?

Changes can be made up until the point your order is placed. After that, modifications may affect your timeline and could involve additional costs depending on what’s changed. We encourage clients to take their time during the design phase, so everyone feels positive about the plan before moving forward.

How do I choose the right cabinet style for my home?

Think about the overall style of your home and how you want your kitchen to feel — warm and traditional, clean and modern, or somewhere in between. Your designer will ask about your lifestyle too, because the best kitchen isn’t just beautiful, it works beautifully for the way you actually live.

What’s trending in kitchen design right now?

Two-tone kitchens — combining a bold lower cabinet color with white or light uppers — remain very popular. Shaker-style doors continue to be a top choice for their versatility. Quartz countertops, large islands, hidden storage solutions, and warm wood accents are all having a strong moment. That said, we always encourage clients to choose for their own taste rather than chasing trends.

Can you work with my existing layout, or do I need to reconfigure the space?

Both are possible. Many clients get a dramatic transformation simply by replacing cabinets and surfaces in the existing footprint. Others choose to reconfigure for better flow or more storage. We’ll help you evaluate what makes sense for your space and your budget.

PRICING & BUDGETING

How much does a kitchen remodel typically cost?

Kitchen remodels vary widely based on size, materials, and scope. A cabinet refresh in a modest kitchen might run around $20,000–$30,000, while a full mid-range remodel typically runs about $30,000–$60,000. High-end, custom or larger kitchens can exceed that. We’ll work with you to understand your budget early so we can recommend options that make sense for you.

What factors affect the price of kitchen cabinets?

The main factors are the type of cabinet (stock, semi-custom, or custom), the materials and finish, the number of cabinets, and the complexity of the design. Features like soft-close hinges, pull-out shelves, and specialty storage also add to the cost — but they’re often worth every penny.

Do you offer financing options?

Yes, financing options are available to help make your project manageable. Ask us about current programs during your consultation.

Are there any hidden costs I should know about?

We believe in full transparency. Your estimate will outline all anticipated costs, including cabinets, countertops, installation, and any additional materials. Where surprises can occasionally occur is in the construction phase — for example, if unexpected plumbing or electrical issues are discovered once walls are opened. We’ll always communicate clearly if anything comes up.

Do you offer package deals or promotions?

We periodically run promotions on select cabinet lines and offer package pricing when you combine cabinets, countertops, and installation. Ask us what’s currently available — it’s always worth asking.

INSTALLATION

Do you handle installation, or do I need to hire my own contractor?

We offer professional installation services and can manage the project from design through completion. If you have a contractor you already trust, we’re happy to work alongside them as well.

Are your installers licensed and insured?

Yes. All of our installation professionals are licensed, insured, and experienced. Your home and your investment are in good hands.

What’s included in your installation service?

Our installation includes delivery, kitchen demolition, cabinet assembly and mounting, countertop templating and installation, and final adjustments. We’ll walk you through exactly what’s covered in your specific project proposal.

Will I need a permit for my kitchen remodel?

It depends on the scope of work. Cosmetic changes like replacing cabinets and countertops in the same footprint typically don’t require a permit. Projects that involve moving walls, plumbing, or electrical work usually do. We can help you understand what applies to your project.

Do I need to be home during installation?

We ask that a homeowner or designated adult be present on the first day of installation. After that, we can work with you on what level of access makes sense for your comfort and schedule.

How do I prepare my kitchen before installation begins?

You’ll want to clear out all cabinets, remove items from countertops, and make sure there’s a clear path for the crew to work. We’ll send you a preparation checklist before your start date so nothing catches you off guard.

DELIVERY & LOGISTICS

How long does it take to receive my order after it’s placed?

Lead times vary by cabinet line. Stock cabinets can ship within a couple of weeks. Semi-custom typically runs four to six weeks. Custom cabinets can take eight to twelve weeks or more. We’ll give you a realistic timeline upfront so you can plan accordingly.

Do you deliver, or do I need to arrange pickup?

We offer delivery to your home or job site. Pickup is also available if you prefer. Delivery fees and logistics will be outlined in your project proposal.

What happens if items are backordered?

We monitor orders closely and will notify you promptly if any items are delayed. In most cases we can work with the manufacturer to expedite or identify comparable substitutions to keep your project on track.
