Remodeling – Getting Started

Truly successful design is about more than how a room looks or even functions – it is also about how it feels.

Remodeling a kitchen is probably one of the most complex home improvement projects you will ever undertake. There is a myriad of decisions to be made throughout the process and you want to be sure that you are making the right choices even before you begin your kitchen remodel. How We Work –
The USKB Process

After decades of remodeling kitchens and baths, U S Kitchens & Baths has found that following a simple step-by-step process ensures that your project will go smoothly and without unexpected “hiccups” along the way. We work hard to be a valuable resource to you by providing our expert guidance and assist you in making the best possible decisions and choices. By doing so you are assured of a successful project outcome. Our process works best when we all work together as a team.

Step One: Visit Our Showroom

We recommend that our relationship begin with your visit to our expansive East Hanover, NJ showroom. Here you will be able to view the many different kitchen displays that are on the showroom floor. We offer kitchen cabinets from nine quality manufacturers at every price point and style, with countless choices to meet every customer’s style and taste. As well, we have countertop, backsplash and hardware selections from distinctive to view.

When you visit us we’ll discuss:

  • General kitchen design ideas you may be considering
  • What cabinet line is best for your budget and style preference
  • A reasonable budget expectation for your project
  • Other options you may be contemplating

Step Two: A Home Visit

After your showroom visit, we will visit your home for a full measure up of the room(s), and when there, continue our design discussion. At the conclusion of this meeting, we will review that:

  • You have identified a cabinet product line that satisfies your quality and taste preferences
  • Based on our discussions, together we have developed a design concept that reflects your vision of your new kitchen
  • At our next meeting we will submit a design proposal that includes your product choices and an estimated project cost that will be within your budget requirements

Step Three: The Retainer Meeting

At this meeting we will:

  • Present a proposed contract with complete kitchen drawings including floor plans, perspectives and elevations

  • Review plumbing, electrical and flooring detail if also included in the project

Upon meeting our commitment to you, we will ask for a non-refundable retainer equal to 10% of the proposed contract and subject to a minimum. The retainer is an initial deposit – not a design fee – and the entire retainer value is credited toward your total purchase.

U S Kitchens & Baths is affiliated with Synchrony Financial and can offer financing plans to qualified customers. Among these plans, you can take advantage of our 18-Months/No Interest financing program, with a minimum payment.

Step Four: Future meetings

Now comes the exciting part!

  • Together we will finalize all design, cabinet and countertop selections and any other details
  • We will establish the start date and estimate completion dates for your kitchen project
  • Once everything has been finalized and the contract is signed, we will begin to place all factory orders and we can all anticipate the completion of your dream kitchen or bath!
